Nu-Lax is an Australian Range of Natural Medicinal Products, used to assist in the treatment of constipation.
All products contain the plant senna, which was first applied medicinally by Arabian physicians in the 9th century. It has long been used in traditional Arabic as well as European medicine to assist in the treatment of constipation.
Senna (Senna alexandrina) is a small shrub native to Northern Africa, which contains chemical compounds called antrahinone glycosides responsible for laxative properties.
Traditionally the leaves of senna were brewed into a tea, but because it is difficult to control the concentration of the active ingredients, the modern medicine has developed standardised plant extract, that allow better monitoring of administered doses of this medicine. They are used in all our products along with other natural ingredients.
